Unearthing Soil Function Booubyjan

The Natural Capital Beneath Your Feet

Holroyd Farm, Booubyjan, QLD

12 October 2026, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM AEST

Hosted by the Burnett Mary Regional Group at Holroyd Farm, with CarbonLink’s Brenton Wenham presenting on soil carbon potential.

Internationally acclaimed soil educator Joel Williams is coming to the Burnett Mary, joined by Grant Sims from Downunder Ag. Across a full day at Holroyd Farm, they will work through what soil function looks like in the paddock and what producers can do to improve it.

What to expect on the day

  • Hear our host farms’ journeys on improving soil function and building natural capital

  • Gather around the soil pit for an interactive demonstration and join the conversation on subsrate and soil layers.

  • Explore implementing multi-species and biological applications to optimise your soil function and increase weight gains.

  • Carbon Farming Advisor & Agronomist, Brenton Wenham from CarbonLink will take the group through:

    • How underlying geology and soil type play into sequestration capacity
    • Where the Burnett Mary’s soil types sit, and what that means for producers in the region
    • How measurement and modelling support soil carbon project success
    • What a CarbonLink property feasibility assessment (known as a NetImpact Plan) can tell you before you commit to a project
