This involves looking at current management and capabilities, soil types and ecological factors, and discussing whether the property is suited to a soil carbon project. We also discuss eligible practice change options, how the whole ACCU Scheme works, and what a project looks like with CarbonLink as a partner.

Once you make an introduction, the CarbonLink team will take it from there. We’ll speak with the producer to understand their property, objectives and current management practices, and assess whether a soil carbon project could be a good fit.
If there’s a potential opportunity, we’ll organise a site visit, guide them through the next steps and keep you informed of progress where appropriate. There’s no obligation for the producer to proceed simply because they’ve been referred.
No. Producers don’t need to already be implementing specific land management practices in order to be applicable for a soil carbon project.
Every property is different, so we assess the individual operation, landscape, its management history and the opportunities available to build soil carbon. Where a project is suitable, our team works with the producer to identify eligible management activities that make sense for their farming system and broader business objectives.
Absolutely. We regularly work with industry groups, advisers and NRMs to help producers better understand soil carbon and the opportunities available through the ACCU Scheme.
